Mercedes AMG HPP is seeking a Build Systems Graduate in Brixworth to assist with the precise assembly of power unit components; this role does not involve designing powertrain parts. In a fast paced, agile environment you will develop tools for the 2026 regulation changes, grow Siemens NX CAD skills, and contribute to the Faults System to root out engine build issues while collaborating with Automation, Engine Build and Product Design. You’ll also help assemble the Internal Combustion Engine, Electric Machines and Battery Packs to gain broad hands on experience. Requirements include a 2:1+ in Mechanical, Motorsport or Automotive Engineering; strong CAD; curiosity, creativity, adaptability, teamwork and self motivation. Apply online with CV and covering letter, include hobbies and grades, no photo on CV; interviews are expected between Nov 2025 and Mar 2026, with a Sep 2026 start. Travel bursary available under Diversity policy.
Your team will ensure the meticulously engineered and machined power unit components are assembled with precision, without fault, and with great repeatability. Without this function, the power unit as we know it today simply could not have been built. Your role would not include designing power unit components.
Being agile and fast is crucial as we rapidly develop tools, processes, and products towards the new Power Unit regulation changes for the start of the 2026 championship season. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your CAD skills in Siemens NX, work with our obligatory Faults System, and liaise with a myriad of divisions across the company: Automation, Engine Build, Project Management and Product Design, to name but a few.
Being involved in our Faults System is an eye-opening experience, where you will be actively involved in determining the root cause of any engine build related issue and reporting on progress as the investigation matures. Ultimately giving closure and confidence that the issue will not stop a Power Unit on the track.
You will also have the opportunity to help build the Internal Combustion Engine, Electric Machines, and Battery Packs, through the tools and process improvements you’ll be delivering.
We will endeavor to give you the most rounded experience possible. In exchange, we’ll be looking for creativity, drive, rigor, and excitement to assure extraordinary work.
You may be a motorsport enthusiast, a technology aficionado, or simply an admirer of perfection, we want you to be part of our history and join the ranks of those who dare to dream and push the art of the possible towards our future success.
