Adviser Platform Sales is responsible for the distribution of AEGON UK solutions to the intermediated adviser market. The key focus for Adviser Platform centres around the sale of GBST Composer solutions (ARC, Workplace ARC, One Retirement and Aegon Platform) as well as internal fund solutions. The Primary goal is growing and retaining assets and revenue for Aegon UK.

As Business Development Manager you will to build business relationships with adviser firms and key individuals, acting as the first point of contact and responsible for prospecting for new business / profit streams, maximising market share with supporters and retaining existing business.

You will be expected to achieve and exceed key performance targets contributing to the overall success of the Distribution Channel.  Endeavouring to exceed personal and team sales targets by maximising new business opportunities by managing a panel of adviser firms and delivery of proactive sales call strategies to deepen and strengthen business relationships. Developing and maximising relationships with designated adviser firms and key individuals.

You will create, deliver and implement sales campaigns, become a platform proposition expert and will develop a strong knowledge of the external market and understanding of competitor’s products alongside developing and maintaining  relationships with Sales Managers, Platform Consultancy Specialists and HO Support Staff.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute strategic business plans for your panel to drive adoption of Aegon platform solutions and investments, while retaining existing assets.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with targeted firms and advisers, expanding contact networks and identifying new business opportunities.

  • Achieve and exceed financial targets by maximising sales activity, managing resources effectively, and collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate account, pipeline, and activity records in Salesforce, ensuring timely updates and reliable forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, complete mandatory training, and proactively manage personal development to address knowledge or skill gaps.

  • Contribute to risk and compliance objectives and support the delivery of Aegon’s overall strategy and vision.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage a high workload and prioritise effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build strong relationships.

  • Proven ability to drive personal performance, work autonomously, and contribute to team objectives.

  • Good knowledge of the Financial Services market, including platforms, pensions, investments, legislation and competitor offerings.

  • Strong knowledge of the Financial Advice Market

  • Demonstrable experience in sales or customer service within Financial Services, ideally with exposure to IFA markets and business models.

  • Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems effectively, and maintain a high level of customer focus.

  • Level 4 Diploma (or working towards) is desirable
