The Opportunity

Our Distribution and Service Centre is looking for a Business Improvement Leader in our Processing and Logistics team based in Wingfield, SA.  As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

In this essential role, reporting to our Processing and Logistics Manager, you’ll support the operations by bringing your technical knowledge and providing your expertise to strive for continuous improvement of the site operations. Working closely with Shift Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and Automation teams, you’ll utilise your problem solving, monitoring and technical skills to achieve continuous digital transformation, manufacturing excellence and process improvement projects across the plant.

This role works Monday to Friday. When you join our team, we offer flexibility with working hours, as well as access to our Employee Assistance Program.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an energetic, self-driven person who is comfortable working alone or leading diverse teams in project and operational style work.

Prior project management experience and continuous improvement methodology is required. Action-orientated, you will drive for results and be well organised whilst displaying exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.  This will be supported with a natural ability to manage and deliver successful projects.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • successfully leading and contributing to a safe working environment, ensuring safety standards are never compromised
  • identifying, coordinating and leading team-based improvement projects
  • supervising the operational activities and striving for business improvements and manufacturing excellence
  • reviewing existing business processes and drive digital transformation
