Advice for Applicants for the BI Developer Role

Lead your resume with your healthcare BI experience and your strongest proof of delivering scalable data solutions in an enterprise setting, especially if you have 4–5 years in BI, data warehousing, and reporting.

In demonstrating the must-have skills, cite concrete projects where you designed data models and metadata, built ETL/ELT pipelines, and delivered dashboards or reports that drove decisions. Highlight your work with Epic EMR data and the Microsoft tools listed in the job description, and quantify improvements in data quality or performance where possible.

Be ready to talk through how you manage multiple projects, collaborate with diverse teams, and support end users with training and governance. You may be asked to explain your approach to data quality, data virtualization, and automated reporting in an enterprise, multi-site setting.

When you reach the interview, consider asking: How does the BI team prioritise work across Epic implementation milestones and data migration projects? What does success look like for analytics across The Royal’s sites, and how is governance structured to support it?
