Susquehanna International Group is looking for a C# Developer to join its Core Trading Technology team in Sydney, on site. The role sits in a Front Office trading environment and spans both server-side systems and user interfaces, collaborating with traders, researchers and technology colleagues to design, build and maintain software that touches many parts of the trading process. If you like turning complex requirements into reliable software and enjoy a close-knit, high-performing team, this could be a good fit. The Sydney team works on proprietary software that supports trading decisions, including trading analysis tools, market and static data feeds, trade monitoring and real-time messaging. The focus is on delivering highly available applications that traders rely on to make quick, informed decisions. In this role you’ll help translate business needs into robust software and contribute to a strong, capable team. You’ll be involved from early analysis through design and development, and you’ll participate in the full software development lifecycle with an emphasis on quality, maintainability and performance.

Day-to-day in the trading tech backbone

You’ll analyse requirements, design solutions and develop business-critical applications, ensuring they are reliable enough for use in a front-office trading setting. You’ll shepherd projects through the full software development cycle, from gathering specifications to getting production releases out the door. You’ll stay curious about new technologies and look for ways to push the technology and automation agenda, helping the team improve capabilities and resilience over time.

What you’ll need to bring to the role

Here’s how the role is framed for applicants.

  • 4+ years of C# experience across back-end server-side systems (preferably with multi-threading) as well as client-side development
  • A technical bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience with WPF is a plus
  • A solid grasp of web technologies, including HTML and JavaScript; familiarity with ReactJS and TypeScript is a bonus
  • Experience deploying .NET Core applications on Linux is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with traders, quantitative analysts and other software developers
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure within a fast-paced team
  • Proven track record as a C# developer with design, profiling, OO principles, multi-threading and UI work across client and server sides
  • Experience with real-time applications, especially Tibco RV, would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and a solid understanding of the full software development life-cycle, ideally with Agile experience
  • Strong collaboration and mentoring abilities to support junior teammates’ growth
  • WPF experience is an advantage
  • Hands-on experience with ReactJS and TypeScript is desirable
  • Experience running and deploying .NET Core applications on Linux is advantageous
  • Background with real-time systems, especially Tibco RV, would be helpful
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies beyond just using them in practice

Pay, benefits and practical details

The role sits onsite in Sydney and comes with a benefits package that supports health and wellbeing, including private healthcare and gym allowances, along with wellness initiatives. You’ll have additional leave entitlements, such as marriage leave and two bonus days each year. The office features a fully stocked kitchen with daily breakfast and lunch, and the company runs regular social, sporting and community events, including an annual poker tournament. There are also matched donations and corporate discounts as part of the perks on offer.

A few tips to help you stand out

Lead with your C# experience across server and client sides, and make sure your resume highlights at least 4+ years in that space, with any multi-threading work clearly shown at the top.

Show concrete examples that prove your must-have skills, design capability, profiling, object‑oriented thinking, multi-threading and UI work on both client and server, preferably in real-time or trading-related projects.

Be ready to discuss your end-to-end development process and any Agile practices you’ve used, plus how you’ve collaborated with traders and quantitative researchers to deliver value.

Consider asking about the current Core Trading Technology stack and how the team measures latency and uptime, and what the next major priorities for the trading tech platform are.
