Terrace Café is recruiting casual Café Assistants through Tātaki Auckland Unlimited. Based at the Terrace Café by Aotea Centre with opportunities to work at The Container Bar in Aotea Square and Starks at The Civic, the role offers a living wage of $28.95 per hour plus 8% holiday pay, full training and no prior hospitality experience required. You will focus on manaakitanga and excellent customer service, including taking orders, using the POS and serving food and drinks. He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

We are recruiting for Café Assistants at The Terrace Café, and currently have multiple casual openings to join our supportive and friendly team.

 

The Terrace is located at the main entrance of Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading performing arts venue the Aotea Centre, and overlooks Aotea Square - one of the city’s largest green spaces and known for its civic and cultural events. The Terrace is a relaxing and spacious café where our patrons enjoy our fresh and delicious meals, tasty share plates, L’affare coffee, and a great selection of local craft beers. The Terrace prides itself on the warmth and manaakitanga (hospitality) offered to all.


You will be based at the Terrace Café and will also have the opportunity to work at The Container Bar in Aotea Square and Starks at The Civic.

 

The Café Assistant role includes order taking for food, coffee, and drinks, using our Point of Sale (POS) system and providing food service. Excellent customer service and manaakitanga (hospitality) is our focus with every patron who visits.


We offer flexible, casual work which is rostered over a 7-day roster period. You will ideally be available to work a range of shifts per week, including some or all of the following: weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.

Do you have the following?

 

  • A positive and friendly personality.
  • A willingness to provide excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication and social skills and ability to think on your feet.
  • Keenness to work in a team environment.
  • High standard of grooming and presentation.
  • Ideally be available to work a range of shifts per week, including some or all of the following: weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.

 

We do provide full training, so no previous experience is required, just an awesome attitude! Although previous experience working within hospitality industry, especially in a Café or restaurant, can be beneficial.
