About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Category Development Manager who’s passionate about turning data into direction, insights into action, and strategy into commercial success. In this role, you’ll influence long‑term category growth, lead key customer engagements, and provide critical insights that guide major business decisions.

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Set the category vision, defining clear growth drivers and steer our three‑year category strategy.
  • Own the category review process, uncovering market and growth opportunities that shape portfolio decisions.
  • Lead insightful analysis to deliver compelling category reviews that meet the needs of brands, consumers, shoppers, and retailers.
  • Develop powerful sell‑stories that connect internal initiatives with external customer and category opportunities.
  • Support innovation commercialisation, guiding new products through the stage & gate process.
  • Lead cross‑functional go‑to‑market activation, ensuring seamless execution across teams.
  • Contribute to Revenue Growth Management through pricing and portfolio recommendations.
  • Produce actionable reporting that brings clarity to market dynamics, performance trends, competitive activity, and financial outcomes.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience in category development within the FMCG industry.
  • Strong understanding of category development management principles.
  • Ability to articulate and write an integrated category and channel strategy.
  • Confident presenter with proven communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Capability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Highly proficient with data programs - Nielsen, Quantium, Synergy and Excel.
  • Understanding of shelf management systems and processes is desirable.
