The role blends sales and business development with client relations, event coordination, menu selections and pricing, scheduling and logistics, and on site event support. Proficiency in CaterTrax and Microsoft Office is required, along with clear written and verbal communication, and PCI compliant billing. You’ll supervise an assistant and coordinate with culinary and operations teams through weekly BEO meetings to ensure accurate, timely information and exceptional service. Metz Culinary Management is growing, and seeking a Rock Star Catering Sales and Event Coordinator. Our catering events range from small casual business lunches to amazing and extravagant black tie events. Our event coordinator must be able to negotiate pricing, assist with menu selection and decor. Must be able to read, write, use simple math, follow and give oral and written instructions. Ability to work quickly and be efficient utilizing office equipment including PC, Microsoft Office Suite and be able to roll up sleeves and jump in where needed.

Job Description:
The role of the catering sales manager is to facilitate both the internal and external sales of catering inquiries submitted to the Hillsdale Dining (Metz Catering) department. The focus of this position is oversee the process of booking, detailing and billing of all events hosted at the college that have requested food and beverage services through the catering department. It is the expectation that this process is clearly communicated to the operations team in order to execute these events at a high level while also building meaningful relationships at the college and in the surrounding community.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The direct report for this role will be the Catering Director, and will work out of the catering office. The employee will, typically, work a 8am – 6pm, Monday through Friday work week and report to work dressed in professional but casual business attire. Catering office hours are set at Monday through Friday, 9am -5pm.
Job performance evaluations will be held annually by the catering director, under the supervision of the General Manager to review the progress the duties outlined above.
