Advice for applicants on this route
Lead with your Class B CDL with Hazardous Materials endorsement and your clean driving record on your resume, since those are the must-have items recruiters will look for first.
When you describe your experience, call out any city-delivery work and be specific about handling freight, loading and unloading cylinders, maintaining manifests, and completing gas invoices to show you can handle the daily duties on the route.
Prepare to talk through how you manage physically demanding tasks, like lifting over 100 pounds and moving large cylinders, and how you stay safe while backing a tractor-trailer and delivering hazardous materials.
Ask about the onboarding and safety training for hazardous materials, how the typical weekly route is structured, and what support you’ll have for learning the invoicing and manifest processes on the job.
