Arvida Group Limited in Tauranga is seeking a full-time Chef to join our cafe within a valued aged care community. You’ll cook to order breakfast and lunch, bake and prep cabinet food, manage stock, and set up and pack down, all while upholding our Food Control Plan and strict hygiene standards. Job Description
Mō te tūranga | About the opportunity
Duties are varied, active, and stimulating with lots of personal interaction and maintain compliance with our Food Control Plan. You will thrive in a beautiful high end cafe environment, and enjoy enriching the lives of our residents. You'll also be responsible for:
- Ensuring all customers have a great experience
- Cooking to order breakfast and lunch
- Baking, prepping and serving cabinet food
- Ordering supplies as required
- Set up and pack down each shift
- Maintaining our cafe cleaning, safety, and hygiene standards

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen and/or cafe minimum of 2 years
- Exceptional cooking and baking skills
- Excellent food hygiene practices and a commitment to safe working practices
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility, adaptability and able to work well under pressure with good time management.
- Empathy towards older adults, good interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Honesty, reliability, and integrity.
- Preference to level 4 plus quals

- Full time 5 days per week - Thurday 1000 - 1500 and Friday to Monday , 0630–1500
