Summerset is seeking a dedicated Chef to join St Johns village in Auckland in a casual on demand capacity. This role goes beyond kitchen work, delivering resident meals, café service, and a varied cabinet assortment while catering to different diets, with opportunities to lead village events. You will prepare set meals for residents who can’t visit the café, handle café short orders, help craft the cafe specials menu, and ensure compliance with the Food Control Plan while supporting the kitchen team. Requirements include a professional cookery qualification, proven chef or cook experience, and solid Food Safety Plan knowledge, plus a collaborative mindset. This is a casual role, working on as and when needed basis.
You will be an experienced and passionate Chef who loves to put people at the heart of their food. You will be used to a fast-paced kitchen where you will be preparing set meals as well as café orders. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, loves bringing people together over food, and enjoys going the extra mile for their customers.
