SmartDev is hiring a Chief Product Officer for Veris, its AI reliability platform, in a full-time hybrid role based in Amsterdam. You’ll own the product end to end, from vision and pricing to four-channel go-to-market, working alongside the CTO to turn strategy into pilots and recurring managed services. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in senior B2B SaaS product leadership, a proven zero-to-one track record, deep AI/ML fluency, and strong commercial instincts around pricing, margins, and net revenue retention, plus distribution and regulated-industry experience. Must speak board-ready English; nice-to-haves include hands-on LLM evaluation, channel product experience, offshore/Vietnam experience, and Russian language a plus. To apply, highlight concrete pilots, quantifiable outcomes, and a clear plan to scale channels and services.
SmartDev is an AI-powered software development company headquartered in Vietnam, part of the Verysell Group. We help global businesses deliver faster and build smarter — combining AI-driven development practices with deep expertise across fintech, healthcare, retail, and enterprise technology. Our team of engineers, architects, and AI specialists works across the full stack: from custom software and cloud solutions to generative AI, MLOps, and intelligent automation. At SmartDev, we believe that great architecture and AI-first thinking are a competitive advantage — and we build our teams accordingly.
The company is at a pivotal point in our journey: transitioning from a pure IT outsourcing provider to an AI-enabled solutions partner.
We have over 200 talented employees working both on-site and remote/hybrid at locations:
Veris is SmartDev's platform for keeping AI systems reliable once they're live. Most tools in this space show you charts and leave you to work out what's wrong — we do the work instead: we find the problems, tell you which ones matter, and fix them. Two products do the job: one checks whether an AI system is safe to release and gives a clear yes or no; the other watches company knowledge bases for content that's gone out of date, contradicts itself, or has gaps, then hands back a prioritized fix-list. We sell into banks, law firms, logistics companies and healthcare providers — markets where an AI that makes things up isn't an embarrassment, it's a legal and financial problem.
This is a builder's role. You'll move between board-level strategy and the detail of pilot feedback, pricing packages, and channel economics — often in the same week. It suits someone who has taken a product from zero to one before, who is genuinely fluent in AI/ML systems, and who can back every roadmap call with commercial numbers a board will trust. You'll do it with a delivery engine, a client base, and an engineering team already in place.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the product end to end. Vision, roadmap, and positioning as a managed outcome — not another self-service eval tool — plus the prototype and platform architecture decisions, made alongside the CTO.
• Land and convert the first customers. Sign the first paid pilots, run a tight feedback loop, and convert them into recurring managed-service contracts across four target verticals.
• Prove the commercial model. Package pricing and validate unit economics — cost-per-client, margin, net revenue retention — with evidence a board can act on.
• Build distribution. Stand up repeatable channels — partner enablement and white-label delivery under the 'You sell. We build. We maintain.' model — that grow revenue without growing headcount in lockstep.
• Build and lead the team. Hire and run the Veris product org; partner closely with engineering, delivery, sales, and finance.
Must-have
• 8+ years in product leadership. Including senior product roles (Head of Product / VP Product / CPO) in B2B SaaS, developer tools, or enterprise software.
• Proven zero-to-one track record. Concept, prototype, first paying customers, and repeatable commercialization.
• Strong technical fluency in AI/ML systems. LLMs, RAG architectures, evaluation, observability, or MLOps/LLMOps — enough to lead architecture trade-offs directly with engineering, not through a translator.
• Real commercial acumen. Pricing, unit economics, margin, and NRR — comfortable presenting evidence-based recommendations to a board, not just a product narrative.
• Distribution experience. Partner/reseller channel experience, evidenced by real channel economics.
• Experience in regulated industries. Finance, legal, healthcare, or compliance-heavy sectors.
• Managed-service or services-led product model experience. Ideally within or alongside an IT services / outsourcing business.
• Excellent communication. Board-quality written and verbal English.
Nice-to-have
• Hands-on LLM evaluation / observability landscape. LLM-as-judge, tracing, CI/CD eval pipelines, hallucination detection.
• Channel product experience. Partner-channel or white-label product experience specifically.
• Prior work with offshore/Vietnam or distributed engineering teams; Russian language a plus given the group context.
