About the Role

To ensure a smooth and efficient operation in the Food & Beverage Department in relation to the Company Core Process; thus directly impacting the delivery of the experience.

 

This position manages the Stewarding team and carries out quarterly inventory of operating equipment; responsible for maintaining the kitchen’s hygienic condition, as per HACCP standards. Ensures that departmental chemical costs are kept within the budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • To display a friendly, helpful and cheerful attitude while communicating effectively with our Guests and fellow Colleagues in order to support Farah Strategy and Values 

  • To represent and promote Farah in a positive manner at all times in order to maintain a professional brand image to all concerned stakeholders

  • To help achieve department and Company objectives, action plans and key performance indicators

  • To enforce and adhere to all UAE laws, Health, Safety & Environmental policies, industry and Company rules and regulations, reporting any safety concerns or incidents to management in order to minimize risk and maintain a clean safe and hygienic environment for all Guests and Colleagues

  • Adhere  to all emergency procedures, ensuring Guest safety and participate in an evacuation if necessary 

  • To prepare and post weekly work schedules for Stewarding Colleagues, making sure that they reflect business needs and other key performance indicators

  • To encourage Colleagues to be creative and innovative, challenging and recognizing them for their contribution to the success of the operation

  • To support the implementation of The F&B Culinary philosophy, demonstrating and reinforcing Farah’s Values and Culture characteristics

  • To assume responsibility of ordering all the kitchen cleaning supplies in order to maintain the inventory par stock

  • To ensure all areas of responsibility are organized in order to maintain them according to sanitary guidelines

  • To ensure proper use of cleaning products and chemicals in a continuous effort in order to keep costs to a minimum

  • To adjust or balance the size of Colleagues in order to maximize productivity without sacrificing Guest service

  • To ensure the cleanliness of all kitchen and back-of-house areas of Food and Beverage

  • To clean and restock all operating equipment for all outlets and banquets

  • To liaise closely with the outlet Colleagues with regards to their needs for operating equipment and its placement

  • To monitor all Stewarding operations, especially during peak business periods, assisting and making adjustments where necessary

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • High School Diploma

  • 1-2 years’ same role or 4 years as Assistant Chief Steward  

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to work well with others as a team member

  • Able to spend long hours standing if required

  • Good Communication and listening skills

  • Leadership skills

  • Attention to details

  • Problem solving skills

 

Desirable

  • College Diploma in food services or culinary arts

  • Soft Skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Multiple Language Skills (Native Language and English Language)
