You will operate a vehicle with on board equipment to ensure a safe, timely collection service, keep accurate records and complete paperwork, and undertake vehicle safety checks. The ideal candidate combines meticulous glass sorting with experience in dual steer vehicles (left and right hand drive) and rear loader refuse trucks, plus LEV operation and the stamina to stand for long shifts. Weekend availability may be required; a valid clean Class 4 licence is essential, as is the ability to educate the public on recycling, a strong commitment to health and safety, and solid route planning. Job Description

We are looking for a multi skilled Class 4 Driver to join our team based in Blenheim. 

The role

Are you wondering what your workday will look like with us? As a Driver you will be responsible for operating a vehicle and equipment on board to ensure a safe and timely collection of service. You’ll also be required to keep accurate records and complete paperwork as well as undertaking vehicle safety checks.

Qualifications

Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following:

  • A sharp eye for detail to ensure glass sorting is performed accurately and efficiently
  • Proficiency in operating dual-steer vehicles (both left-hand and right-hand drive)
  • Experience operating rear loader refuse compactor trucks
  • Familiarity with driving and operating a LEV (Low Entry Vehicle), including the physical ability to remain on their feet for up to 13 hours a day
  • Availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) when reasonably requested
  • A valid and clean Class 4 driver’s licence
  • The ability to educate the public on proper waste and recycling practices
  • A strong commitment to health and safety standards
  • Adherence to all road regulations and logbook requirements
  • Safe and efficient driving practices
  • Strong skills in route planning and navigation
  • Flexibility to operate a variety of vehicle classes
