The Department

Support Services provides the core Support Services of Non-ward Cleaning, Gardens and Grounds, Distribution, Security, Ward Support, Food Services and Car Parking. The position of Support Services Cleaner is a key operational role within the support services team.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated individual to join the Support Services cleaning team in our Theatre department. Sandringham Hospital provides healthcare in emergency, paediatrics, general medicine and in outpatient clinics. In this role you will be responsible for the provision of high quality cleaning services including the cleaning and making of patient trolleys.

Skills and Experience Required 

  • As the ideal candidate you will have a background of cleaning experience within Health Facilities or equivalent and possess excellent communication skills
  • Experince in cleaning in operating Theatres and ED is preferred
  • A high level of flexibility and motivation to achieve set standards, contribute to Occupational Health and Safety and understand and practice infection control principles is required
  • The role includes afternoon and night shifts
  • There are also casual opportunities available for weekend and pm shifts
  • This role requires good time management and organisational skills, as the main function is the provision to provide a safe environment for Patients/Residents, Staff and Visitors
