🌟 About the Role

Yarrawonga Health is seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Support Nurse to join our Clinical Services team on a fixed term contract through to February 2027.

This role is central to strengthening our clinical workforce and supporting excellence in patient care. You will provide hands-on clinical support, mentoring and education to nursing staff, with a strong focus on the Graduate Nurse Program. Working closely with the Executive Director of Clinical Services and broader leadership team, you will contribute to the development, coordination and delivery of education programs that enhance clinical capability across the organisation.

🔎 Key Responsibilities

Clinical Education & Workforce Development

  • Undertake annual learning needs assessments and develop a comprehensive in-service education program
  • Provide orientation and mentoring to new nursing staff
  • Support and guide Graduate Nurses through structured mentoring
  • Assist with annual competency assessments
  • Support undergraduate students, clinical supervisors and preceptors
  • Ensure staff are trained in the safe use of new and infrequently used equipment
  • Plan and support No Lift education in collaboration with the Safety Manager
  • Contribute to the review and development of clinical procedures

Leadership & Clinical Support

  • Provide expert clinical advice and guidance to nursing staff
  • Promote a client-centred model of care aligned with organisational values
  • Contribute to strategies that strengthen staff retention, team culture and engagement
  • Participate in interdisciplinary committees and quality initiatives

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Work within a Continuous Quality Improvement framework
  • Participate in performance review processes and reflective practice
  • Support achievement of organisational KPIs and clinical standards
  • Contribute to clinical projects and service improvement initiatives

✔️ Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience across a range of clinical care disciplines
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Demonstrated teaching and mentoring skills

Desirable

  • Postgraduate or Master’s level qualification
