Main goal

The Club Competitions Services Manager sits within the Club Competitions unit and is responsible for enhancing competition services offered to clubs participating in UEFA competitions and strengthening collaboration with them in order to optimise the organisation of these competitions. The role includes designing, implementing and overseeing operational processes and engagement models for participating clubs to optimise the experience of playing in European competitions and raise organisational standards. The role will lead cross‑functional collaboration, ensure consistency and manage a small team of internal and external colleagues. Operating with autonomy, the successful candidate will provide expert guidance, contribute to organisational strategy within their area of responsibility and guide the development of competition services by engaging with participating clubs and establishing and strengthening dialogue and collaboration with them.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the Club Competitions unit in defining the operating model and longterm vision for UEFA club competitions
  • Leading the implementation and development of engagement strategies to ensure a coherent, structured and proactive approach to competition-related interactions with clubs
  • Building and maintaining constructive, trustbased working relationships that facilitate operational excellence and organisational alignment
  • Identifying challenges and opportunities across competitions and proposing tailored approaches for different club profiles
  • Coordinating with internal departments to ensure consistent communications, information flow and alignment of expectations
  • Supporting the development of an effective and continuous communication system by proactively engaging clubs in exchanges of opinions and encouraging contributions to shape the development of UEFA club competitions, while ensuring a follow-up process in order to fulfil clubs’ expectations and enhance their engagement
  • Overseeing the development of tools, guidelines and processes that support effective engagement and knowledge sharing
  • Supervising, mentoring and guiding staff in the execution of daily tasks and operational activities
  • Gathering feedback and regularly reporting to the lead of the club competitions management pillar, developing clear KPIs based on objectives and an agreed timeline
  • Representing the unit in internal working groups and cross‑functional initiatives as delegated by the department's chief

Requirements

Experience:

  • Significant experience in stakeholder management, operational coordination or club‑facing roles within elite sport
  • Experience in a club competition environment

Education:

  • University degree in sports management, business administration, communications or a related field is considered an asset

Languages:

  • English / Proficient
  • Fluency in at least another language

Other requirements:

  • Strong understanding of UEFA club competitions and operational structures
  • Proven ability to build trust‑based relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills
  • Experience managing projects and/or small teams
  • Relocation to Switzerland/France is expected
