Full-time
On-site
Kings Meadows, TAS, Australia
$68,000 - $68,000 AUD yearly

CGL – Retail Services, part of the Clemenger Group, combines two leading Australian retail marketing specialists, Creative Activation and Clemenger Field Marketing. They partner with top brands and retailers to lift in-store performance through merchandising, training, mystery shopping, audits and more. A Coles merchandiser role is now open, onsite in Kings Meadows, Tas, to join Creative Activation’s CRT team. The position is full-time with an immediate start, backed by ongoing training and development in a friendly, team-oriented environment. It’s a good fit for someone who enjoys practical retail work, prefers weekday hours, and wants to work close to home.

The Coles project is handled through Creative Activation for the CRT team, with the client-focused aim of precise in-store execution. The right person will bring a can-do attitude, a knack for prioritising tasks, and solid communication chops. Merchandising experience helps, but the correct attitude is essential and will go a long way in this role.

On offer is a structured, onsite role where you’ll contribute to store-level merchandising, relays, planogram implementation, price updates, and ticketing, all while aligning with Coles’ standards. The arrangement emphasizes a Monday-to-Friday pattern with no weekend work, flexible hours to suit your life, and a path for growth within the broader Clemenger network.

The day-to-day rhythm in the aisles

In practice, you’ll be in Coles stores as part of the CRT team, turning planograms into real displays, setting up point-of-sale materials, and keeping pricing and ticketing accurate as plans change. The work combines hands-on tasks with attention to detail, so you’ll move displays as needed and ensure relays reflect current merchandising directions.

Success comes from staying organised and managing time across tasks and locations. You’ll coordinate with store colleagues to implement merchandising plans, while keeping safety in mind and being able to lift up to 15kg when handling stock or displays. Independence, reliability, and the ability to prioritise will help you keep pace and maintain quality across multiple stores.

Expect a weekday-focused schedule that aligns with Coles’ calendar, with a requirement to be available on Fridays. The role is onsite, so you’ll be out in stores, applying practical merchandising know-how and liaising with store teams to deliver consistent in-store experiences.

What you’ll need to bring to the shelf

Here are the essentials you’ll need to do this job well, followed by a note on what helps even more.

  • Be self-motivated, adaptable, and resourceful
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be able to lift up to 15kg
  • Have flexible availability on weekdays
  • Available to work Fridays
  • Merchandising experience is preferred

In short, a practical, hands-on approach with solid people skills and a readiness to learn will shine in this role.

Pay, benefits and practical details

The pay is $34.34 per hour plus superannuation. The role is onsite in Kings Meadows, Tasmania, and follows a Monday-to-Friday pattern with flexible hours, no weekend work, and a short commute from home. You’ll be joining a team with a strong culture and a pathway for career progression, plus ongoing training and development and an Employee Recognition Program.

The position is available to start ASAP, and the role includes a clear emphasis on in-store training and development as you grow within the CRT team and the broader network. There are no travel requirements listed, and the job specifies physical tasks such as lifting up to 15kg as part of daily duties.

Tips for applicants

Lead your resume with any planogram or POS-related work you’ve done, and foreground your ability to prioritise tasks and manage time. If you have merchandising experience, place it near the top; if not, open with evidence of a strong attitude and a track record of independent work.

When you describe your must-haves, back them with concrete examples. Show how you’ve stayed self-motivated and organised, perhaps by outlining a project where you balanced multiple store visits or updates within tight timelines, and mention your capacity to lift 15kg when needed.

For interviews, be ready to walk through how you would approach planogram implementation, relays, and ticketing in a live store. Have a concise story ready about a time you prioritised competing tasks to meet a deadline and how you communicated with store staff to keep everything aligned.

Ask a thoughtful question about the role’s first steps and growth. For instance: what does success look like in the first 90 days on the Coles CRT team, and what does the training and development plan entail during that period?
