Rotorua Lakes Council is looking for motivated Senior Parking Officers to join the community safety team. As a Senior Parking Warden, you will play a crucial role in providing support and relief to the Team Leader, Parking services. You will also encourage and ensure compliance with parking regulations and providing general ambassadorial assistance to residents and tourists. Your responsibilities will include patrolling by vehicle or on foot, monitoring compliance, issuing Infringements for stationary vehicle offences and addressing abandoned vehicles. Parking Wardens also help achieve Council’s community safety objectives through effective connection and escalation to relevant stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you need School Certificate or NZQA equivalent in English & Mathematics. You also need proven experience in a leadership role, along with conflict resolution and advanced communication skills. A minimum of two years in parking services or a relatable enforcement or compliance role is also ideal, and you must have a clean police record and full driver's license. Furthermore, the role requires suitable knowledge of pertinent legislation such as, Land Transport Act 1998, application of Bylaws, Road User Rule 2004, Local Government Act 2002 and the Health and Safety in work Act 2015. Experience in enforcement in a Local Government context is desirable but not required.
