About Red Dog
Red Dog Operations is both the largest critical minerals mine in the United States and one of the largest zinc mines in the world. In 1982, Red Dog was developed through a partnership between Teck and the land-owner NANA, an Alaska Native corporation owned by the Iñupiat of northwest Alaska. The partnership between Teck and NANA ensures real benefits for the local Iñupiat community, while recognizing there is still more to do as we advance our commitment to sustainable practices and meaningful engagement.
Reporting to the Project Director and working closely with Teck’s Construction Manager, the Construction Manager (Infrastructure) is responsible for delivering construction scopes, creating project value, and mitigating execution risks across the Project Development Group portfolio. Initially supporting the Red Dog Mine Life Expansion Project in Northern Alaska, the role oversees construction execution in alignment with Teck’s Project Development Framework, construction strategy, and construction management plan, primarily through management of the CM service provider.
The Construction Manager partners with project, functional, and operational leaders to review and monitor HSEC, quality, procurement, contracting, budget, cost, and schedule plans. The role provides expertise in construction strategy, site management, constructability reviews, and risk assessment, while promoting innovation, technology, safety-in-design, and sustainable construction practices. The position also supports coordination between above- and below-ground activities, working closely with the Underground Construction Manager and development contractor to manage project interfaces.
