Tips for making your case
Start your resume by placing the engineering apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 front and center so the panel sees the right baseline immediately.
When you describe your experience, give concrete examples of fault-finding, analysis and problem-solving in a manufacturing or maintenance setting, and note any contributions to continuous improvement or automation projects.
In interviews, be ready to talk through how you’ve supported both planned and reactive maintenance, including how you partnered with production teams to keep safety, efficiency and quality on track.
Ask a smart question about the role’s automation on the line and the kinds of continuous-improvement projects currently underway to demonstrate you’re looking to add value beyond basic upkeep.
