The role

In this role, you’ll be the central point of contact for retailer queries across Vector’s electricity network, working through a high‑volume inbox while ensuring accuracy and first‑time‑right outcomes. You’ll process retailer requests, investigate data discrepancies, resolve exceptions, and navigate industry rules and compliance timeframes to deliver timely, high‑quality responses.

A key selling point of this role is the continuous learning it offers. No two days are the same – you’ll encounter new scenarios, apply industry rules to individual contexts, and build deep technical understanding of ICPs, tariffs, and network data. This foundation opens career pathways into project work, contracts, delivery, and related operational teams across Vector.

You’ll also play a major role in reducing the current backlog, improving turnaround times, supporting cross‑training across streams, and contributing to a team culture that values ownership, curiosity, accuracy, and methodical problem solving.

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong administration or coordination background, ideally in utilities, energy retailers, metering, or other compliance‑driven operational environments
  • Excellent problem‑solving capability, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues and reach evidence‑based conclusions
  • High‑quality written communication and experience managing high‑volume email workloads
  • Proactive, self‑driven and resilient work style, with strong prioritisation, multitasking and time‑management skills
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, applying industry rules to unique scenarios, and taking ownership from start to finish.

Why Vector?

We know that great energy starts with great people, and we’re committed to creating an environment where you can be, do and achieve your best:

  • Enhance your wellbeing, protect your future and empower your personal and professional growth through our extensive benefits package
  • Supercharge your career through internal opportunities, own your own development plan and drive your learning and growth
  • Join a company embracing innovation and collaborating with leading names worldwide to develop and adopt cutting-edge technologies, like X The Moonshot Factory
  • We value diverse perspectives, which drive innovation and creativity. We encourage everyone to bring their full selves to work, embracing ideas that challenge and inspire
  • Build a legacy doing work that matters – we’re keeping the lights on across Auckland, and driving a sustainable energy future for New Zealand.
