As a Customer Service Assistant, you’ll warmly welcome visitors to the Zoo and help deliver an exceptional experience from arrival through to departure. The role spans our six key service areas — Cashiers, Information Centre, Retail Shop, Gate, Concierge, and Membership Hub — supporting ticket and membership sales, visitor enquiries, queue management, retail operations, and hire items. You’ll also contribute to delivering engaging visitor experiences, including birthday parties, Tamariki Time sessions, and Te Wao Nui tours. Alongside promoting conservation messages, maintaining clean and welcoming spaces, and working collaboratively as part of a supportive team, you’ll engage respectfully with visitors, including the use of simple Te Reo Māori, while remaining flexible and ready to support across all operational areas as needed.
