KiwiRail is hiring a Customer Host to deliver warm, professional on-board service for Scenic and Scenic Plus passengers in Wellington. This full-time, on-site role requires energy, endurance for long shifts, and the ability to lift up to 20 kg and assist with luggage while serving food and drinks, including alcohol. You should have customer service experience in hospitality or tourism, NCEA Level 3, a full NZ driver license, and cash handling confidence, plus a plan to obtain First Aid, Emergency Procedures, Food Hygiene and liquor licensing certifications. You’ll make every journey memorable by providing warm, professional service — from serving high-quality food and beverages to helping passengers with luggage and keeping them informed during disruptions. Your polished presentation and positive attitude will represent the very best of our brand.
This is a fast-paced, physical role on board a moving train, requiring energy, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to passenger care. Due to the nature of the position, we welcome applications from those aged 18 years and over.
