The Job: Cyber Security Engineer

We’re seeking a Cyber Security Engineer with at least 7 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise security controls and infrastructure. They will also ensure secure configuration, continuous improvement of security technologies, and support incident response through technical expertise. They will also drive integration of security-by-design principles across on-prem and cloud environments.

What You’ll Do

Security Infrastructure Engineering:

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, and encryption technologies.
  • Optimize configurations to strengthen overall defensive posture.

Monitoring & Threat Detection:

  • Maintain logging pipelines, integrations, and security control telemetry.
  • Support SOC teams by tuning alerting rules, dashboards, and event sources.

Incident Response:

  • Lead technical investigations and support containment/remediation activities.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and develop long-term engineering fixes.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with IT/development teams.

Policy & Compliance:

  • Contribute to development and enforcement of security configuration standards and policies.
  • Ensure alignment with frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST, and other regulatory requirements.

Collaboration & Training:

  • Partner with IT, cloud, infrastructure, and development teams to improve security practices.,
  • Provide technical mentorship and knowledge sharing.

Research & Innovation:

  • Evaluate new security technologies and contribute to proactive defense strategies.,
  • Enhance automation and improve SOAR playbooks or workflows.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in:
    • Security Engineering & Architecture
    • Detection, Response & Operations
    • Endpoint, Network & Email Security
    • Vulnerability & Risk Management
    • Data Protection & Compliance.
    • Cloud & Identity Security
    • DevSecOps, SAST/DAST, or application security
  • Deep expertise in identity, cloud, endpoint, network, and detection security domains.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise IAM, Azure security, EDR/XDR, SIEM, and Vulnerability Management
  • Strong understanding of incident response, threat detection, and attacker techniques.
  • Ability to design, implement, and improve security controls in a regulated environment

Education + Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant certifications are highly valued (CISSP, CEH, CISM/CISA, Cloud Certifications).
  • Identity and access management (Entra ID/Okta, MFA, Conditional Access).
  • Azure cloud security, Endpoint security (EDR/XDR, Intune, BitLocker).
  • SIEM and Detection engineering.
  • Network and perimeter security (NGFW, VPN/SASE, WAF, DNS, TLS).
  • Vulnerability management (Tenable), Data protection (encryption, DLP, key and certificate management).
  • Application and API security (SAST/DAST), Security automation and scripting (PowerShell/Python, APIs), and Zero Trust architecture.
