RetailData LLC is hiring a Data Collection Representative to join the onsite team in Syracuse, NY. This full-time role focuses on gathering product data and pricing information at local retailers, with an emphasis on accuracy and the ability to work independently. RetailData LLC operates in essential services and prioritizes accountability, respect, and trust in how they support their employees and partners. If you prefer working solo, staying organized, and turning numbers into precise store records, this could be a good fit. You’ll begin with thorough training and you’ll have a clear path to grow your data collection skills, all within a compensation structure that rewards productivity. The company also offers protection and retirement options, plus flexible scheduling designed to support a healthy work-life balance. Key benefits include a comprehensive initial training program, a productivity-based pay model that comes with a guaranteed minimum and upside as you build proficiency, identity theft protection and a 401k with match, optimized flexible schedules, paid drive time and mileage reimbursement, and ongoing opportunities for learning and development. This is a role with room to grow while you contribute to essential operations.

On the road collecting data in Syracuse

The Data Collection Representative will work in the field, traveling to assigned local stores to collect item details and pricing information, using a company pricing app on a smartphone to receive assignments and record results.

You’ll operate independently to start and finish assignments on time, with the flexibility to adapt hours as needed, and you’ll spend most of your shift standing while you verify data and sometimes handle physical tasks up to 40 pounds.

Some projects require working in cold store environments like refrigerators or freezers, so being comfortable with those conditions is part of the job. The employer supports ongoing training and development and covers drive time and mileage when traveling between locations.

Your must-haves to get started

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Smartphone capable of running the company pricing app and receiving assignments
  • Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and valid auto insurance
  • Reliability to start and finish assignments on time with attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds intermittently
  • Willingness to work in cold temperatures found in grocery store refrigerators and freezers when required

Pay, perks and practical details

The compensation is productivity-based and comes with a guaranteed minimum, with the potential for additional upside as you increase your aptitude and proficiency in completing projects for the company.

Employees receive identity theft protection and a 401k with matching contributions, along with optimized, flexible work schedules that support a healthy work-life balance.

Paid drive time and mileage reimbursement are part of the package, and there are opportunities for learning and development as you grow in the role.

Tips to win the gig

Highlight any data entry experience and your comfort using a smartphone app to access pricing and assignments, placing this near the top of your resume to catch the recruiter’s eye.

Demonstrate you meet the must-haves by detailing your age, education, driver’s license status, driving record, and your ability to handle standing, lifting, and cold conditions in previous roles or clinical examples.

Be ready to tell a concrete story about a time you started and completed a field assignment on time while maintaining the level of detail the project required, including how you used the pricing app to guide your work.

Ask a thoughtful question about the role’s logistics, such as which stores or routes are typical in Syracuse, how performance is measured, and what the training covers for new hires so you know what to expect from day one.
