Data Management Advisor for System Services Products (f/m/d)
Elia Group50Hertz Transmission GmbH, part of the European Elia Group, is looking for a Data Management Advisor for System Services Products to help steer how the market rules translate into billing for system services. The role is based onsite in Berlin at the Berlin-Mitte office on Heidestraße 2 (postal code 10557). It’s a permanent, full-time position at 37 hours per week, with an entry date described as “for the next possible date.” The listing is tied to job ID 11183. If you enjoy turning complex regulatory requirements into workable IT-enabled processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams, this could be a strong fit.
The position centers on shaping and refining the processes used to bill system services such as Regelenergie, Momentanreserve, Redispatch and the capacity market, and then transitioning those processes into steady operations. The work involves representing the business side in projects, coordinating with IT and with teams in energy economics and system operation, and ensuring new requirements, whether technical, regulatory, or procedural, are implemented properly. In short, you’ll bring project discipline and a knack for solving intricate problems to a role that sits at the nexus of business, technology and regulation.
You’ll spend your days bridging business needs and technical delivery. Expect to lead work packages, design and implement billing processes for system services, and translate regulatory guidance into practical IT configurations. You’ll monitor ongoing operations to find ways to streamline and automate processes in the billing software, and you’ll build reports that track process and governance metrics. You’ll also prepare technical articles and presentations, participate in professional events, and handle inquiries from customers, authorities and internal stakeholders. And you’ll contribute to national and European work groups, for example with ÜNBs, associations, or research and innovation projects.
What you’ll need to bring to the role
- You hold a master’s degree or diploma in a relevant field (for example, energy management, industrial engineering, informatics in business, economics, or a comparable mix of education and hands-on experience)
- You have several years of experience in project and interface management, agile product development, and change management
- You’re prepared to undergo thorough onboarding into the German and European energy markets, including their IT implementation, and you can independently grasp complex topics and communicate them across cross-functional teams
- You show a high degree of independence, initiative, and strong coordination and organizational skills
- You communicate well in both spoken and written German and English (C1)
- You have project leadership experience
- You know the German energy sector well and understand the relevant European framework
- You understand and connect technical, commercial and energy-economics contexts
Flexibility you can count on
The vacancy includes a 37-hour workweek with flexible hours and a long-term time account to support work-life balance. There isn’t a limit on the number of flex days, core hours aren’t required, and mobile work from home is possible, all designed to help you fit the job to your life.
Pay, benefits and practical details
The role offers a solid set of benefits beyond the basics: a comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training opportunities, 30 days of annual leave, a collegial working environment, a company pension scheme, and access to professional advisory services covering health, care, legal matters and finances. The position is onsite in Berlin, with the potential for flexible arrangements as noted above.
Advice for applicants
Highlight on your resume that you’ve managed cross-functional work streams and partnerships with IT and business units, especially where regulatory requirements drive process design.
When you describe your must-have capabilities, foreground examples that show you’ve led or coordinated projects, and that you’ve translated regulatory or technical needs into concrete IT or process changes, including how you measured success.
In interviews, be ready to discuss a project where you integrated complex regulatory requirements into operations, how you collaborated with colleagues from different disciplines, and how you handled competing priorities to deliver a workable solution.
Ask a concrete question about upcoming changes in system-service billing processes or how the team collaborates with European-level bodies. A smart question could explore how new regulatory changes might affect data flows, interfaces, or reporting in the billing system.
