TikTok is seeking a Data Scientist Graduate (E-Commerce Governance) for a 2027 start, onsite in Seattle, to address risks in e-commerce and help build a better ecosystem. As part of the Governance and Experience Algorithm team, you will develop metrics to measure governance success, design a merchant and creator credit system, and collaborate with engineers and PMs to scope problems and drive projects. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in CS, Stats, Economics or related field and are proficient in SQL, Python or R; experience with Hadoop/Spark and PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus. The Governance and Experience Algorithm team was established in September 2020 and its main job is to support the following businesses with the most advanced AI technology:
- Combat any kinds of risks/violations issues in E-commerce scenarios.
- Build an E-commerce ecosystem and improve platform service capabilities

Responsibilities:
- Develop scientific metrics to measure success of E-Commerce governance and experience team.
- Develop the credit system for merchants and creators to incentivize good behavior.
- Work closely with engineers and product managers, and drive project execution and iteration by clear problem scoping and design

Minimum Qualifications:
- Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economy or a related discipline. • Proficient in at least one software programming language, such as SQL/R/Python.
- Good self-driving ability and team cooperation ability, strong sense of responsibility, willingness and ability to challenge oneself and learn new knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experiences in Hadoop/Spark/Storm and other computing platforms and tools.
- Hands-on experience in open source machine learning frameworks such as pytorch and tensorflow.
