Virtusa is hiring a DataOps Engineer for a full-time onsite role in Sydney. You’ll work with data sourced from 80+ systems including GDW1/2, Omnia and various files, with ETL pipelines built in SSIS and SQL that feed an on-prem Windows server Sandpit. The Analytics team creates Tableau reports for business decisions, while the Data Ops group automates those pipelines via Git and handles daily job monitoring and troubleshooting. This is an ops plus enhancements role with a strong SRE component to manage the servers. Prioritize tasks through a front door mechanism; no formal ticketing system, but high priority items inform senior LT reporting. Travel: No. Ideal candidate shows solid data integration, incident resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.

Description
Data is sourced from 80+ systems incl GDW1/2, Omnia, Files etc
Data ingested via SSIS, SQL packages into Sandpit
ETL is hosted on prem windows server
Analytics team generates Tableau reports for business decisions. They write the queries and push to Git, which is then automated / built into pipelines by the Data Ops Team
Daily monitoring of jobs, troubleshooting failures, fixing issues.
Reporting is critical for EGM/GM/EM decision-making; hence this plays a critical role
No formal ticketing system (not in ServiceNow, no P1/P2/P3 categorization, however most of the tickets needs to handle on priority as they go for senior LT reporting
Front door mechanism already available to prioritize the tasks etc.
Work includes BAU Ops + enhancements (similar to L1/L2/L3 support).
Apart from this, SRE skillset to manage the servers
