Full-time
On-site
Bern, BE

TSMG is hiring to build out depot operations for autonomous vehicle and robotaxi fleets across Europe. The role is stationed in Bern, Switzerland, at a dedicated robotaxi depot and is full-time and onsite. It’s a good fit for people who like hands-on work, enjoy structured routines, and want to contribute to safe, reliable autonomous mobility without needing prior robotaxi experience, training is provided.

As a Depot Specialist, you’ll help keep fleets clean, charged, inspected, and ready for daily deployment. You’ll balance daily vehicle preparation with inventory control and general depot duties, so operations run smoothly from shift to shift. The team collaborates with Safety Operators, Technicians, Engineers, and Fleet Operations leaders, and the work you do directly supports the launch, operation, and expansion of robotaxi services in European cities.

In this position, you’ll be part of a mission to scale autonomous mobility across multiple European sites. It’s a hands-on role that rewards meticulous organization and calm under pressure, with full training provided to bring you up to speed on depot procedures and fleet readiness.

Keeping the depot humming

Each day starts with getting vehicles ready for the next shift: ensuring cleanliness, performing inspections, and confirming the vehicles are charged and deployment-ready. You’ll check the cameras, LiDAR, radar, mirrors, sensors, windows, and interior spaces to support optimal self-driving system performance, and you’ll carry out pre-deployment and post-shift checks according to set procedures. Monitoring battery levels and coordinating charging schedules for electric vehicles are part of keeping the fleet powered and available.

Beyond vehicle prep, you’ll help guide depot movement and logistics. That means coordinating where cars park, how they’re moved, and where they’re staged for charging or deployment. You’ll assist with dispatch and return processes, keep parking areas organized for efficiency, maintain a clean, safe workspace, and ensure vehicle availability is aligned with Safety Operators, Technicians, and Operations Leads.

On the vehicle side, you’ll perform basic functionality checks before deployment, verify tire and lighting conditions, fluid levels, and charging equipment, and spot any cosmetic or operational issues that need a technician’s eye. When problems arise, you’ll escalate to Senior Technicians or SDS Specialists and help with recovery or transport tasks as needed. Inventory and logistics duties sit alongside this, tracking cleaning materials, charging accessories, PPE, and other depot gear, receiving deliveries, and supporting fleet expansion and new depot launches.

Documentation and compliance pieces are part of the rhythm too. You’ll complete digital inspection checklists and fleet readiness reports, record vehicle status and charging information, and uphold depot safety procedures and standard operating practices. There’s a continuous improvement angle as well, you’ll be encouraged to spot ways to reduce downtime and boost fleet availability.

Your must-haves and nice-to-haves

Here’s what you need to be considered, plus additional skills that would help you stand out.

  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Be comfortable driving both electric and conventional vehicles.
  • Show solid organization and time-management abilities.
  • Have a sharp eye for detail.
  • Have basic computer literacy for digital checklists and reports.
  • Be able to work independently and also collaborate with a team.
  • Feel comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Be flexible with shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Speak English at an upper-intermediate level.
  • Experience in fleet operations, logistics, warehouse work, automotive detailing, or transportation.
  • Familiarity with electric vehicles.
  • Some basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operational environments.
  • Forklift certification or similar logistics experience is a plus.

What you’ll bring to the depot

Successful Depot Specialists maintain high operational standards and recognise that vehicle readiness is central to the success of autonomous fleets and robotaxi services. You’ll thrive in structured work, pay close attention to every detail, and ensure each vehicle leaves the depot clean, charged, safe, and prepared for customer service or testing operations. The role welcomes applicants with no prior robotaxi experience, since comprehensive training on depot procedures, vehicle preparation, and fleet operations is provided.

Pay, benefits and practical details

The role is full-time and onsite in Bern, with onboarding and operational training provided. It offers long-term career opportunities within fleet operations, autonomous mobility, and robotaxi deployment, plus exposure to depot management, fleet readiness, vehicle operations, and commercial autonomous ride-hailing services. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment alongside Safety Operators, Technicians, Engineers, and Fleet Operations teams, with opportunities to support new city launches, depot setup, and expansion across Europe.

Advice for applicants

Lead your resume with hands-on depot or logistics experience, especially anything that shows you’ve kept fleets moving or managed vehicle prep, charging, or inventory in a fast-paced setting. If you have worked with both EVs and conventional vehicles, mention specific tasks you handled and the impact they had on uptime or readiness.

To prove the must-have skills, pair each claim with a concrete example. For instance, describe a time you kept a workspace organized while coordinating multiple moving parts, or a shift where you ensured every vehicle on a lot was ready for deployment by a set deadline. If you hold a driver’s license, note the types of vehicles you’ve operated and any related safety or compliance training you’ve completed.

Prepare for interviews by outlining how you would approach pre-deployment checks, post-shift documentation, and inventory control. Be ready to discuss how you manage charging schedules for EVs, how you verify sensor and interior condition, and how you’d escalate issues when maintenance is needed. Expect questions about your experience working in indoor and outdoor environments and your ability to adapt to flexible hours.

Ask a thoughtful question about the role’s path in Europe: for example, how depot readiness metrics are defined and tracked, or how the team plans to support new city launches and depot setups as the robotaxi program scales across different countries.
