Air New Zealand is recruiting a ground-based, full-time Deputy Fleet Manager for the Turboprop fleet in a hybrid arrangement to lead a team responsible for just over 600 pilots, ensuring safe, efficient operations and strong leadership across rostering, manpower, operational integrity and technical decision making. You will provide technical, operational and personnel support to flight crews, coach performance in line with safety and customer service, and contribute to commercial planning by helping manage costs, revenues and outcomes. The role requires safety and regulatory compliance, active participation in operational forums, and keeping a remote team connected through clear communication and digital skills. With relevant experience in a complex business environment and proven people management skills, you will play a significant role in the current and future performance and productivity of the Turboprop Pilot group. You will bring strong communication, digital and organisational skills. You will also have strong attention to detail and have experience in keeping a remote team connected.
This role will require you to work from our Auckland Domestic Terminal office, Monday to Friday and will require some flexibility with regards to working hours to provide sufficient coverage and to be available to our pilots.
As this role is ground-based, you are not required to be a pilot to apply for this role (although experience working with pilots/in an airline is preferred).
