About the role

We are seeking a passionate Development Manager to join our expanding McNab Property Team, based in our South Brisbane Office.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of shaping exceptional built environments, driving innovation, and making a lasting impact on Brisbane’s property landscape. McNab Property currently has a number of developments under construction across South East QLD.

This role offers you the opportunity to lead and manage Built Form projects from site acquisition through to handover, overseeing every step of the development process to ensure successful, high-quality outcomes.

As Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Helping to identify acquisition of potential sites, ensuring they align with McNab’s strategic goals.
  • Conduct detailed feasibility studies to assess the financial viability of projects, working closely with the finance team to secure funding and prepare finance proposals.
  • You will oversee the development of initial concept designs, collaborating with architects and consultants to create innovative and functional solutions.
  • Your role will also involve managing the submission of Development Applications and building strong relationships with local and state government authorities to ensure timely council approvals.
  • Collaborating with the Marketing and Sales teams, you will help develop and execute tailored sales and marketing strategies that align with market trends and drive project success.
  • Throughout the project delivery phase, you will ensure that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Manage the handover process, ensuring a smooth transition to the building contractor, overseeing purchaser settlements, and ensuring that all project documentation and warranties are properly handed over.

About you

We are looking for a Development Manager with built form experience across multi-residential apartment buildings, and a solid understanding of the local market. A passion for the property development process and a commitment to building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships are essential. You should be solutions-focused, capable of collaborating with diverse teams, and adept at identifying trends.

We are seeking the following:

  • A degree in Property Economics, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline and ideally you have used estatemaster.
  • Demonstrated success in a similar role with a strong track record.
  • Proven ability to work within development strategies, challenging concepts to achieve team objectives.
  • Experience in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies aligned with project concepts to meet pre-sales targets and drive revenue.
  • Strong passion for property development, with a keen interest in market intelligence and successful sales strategies.
  • Proactive in identifying, negotiating, and resolving potential project issues, and knowing when to escalate them appropriately.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a confident yet humble demeanor.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with a willingness to embrace feedback and a desire to continuously learn and grow.
