Tips for applicants
Start your resume with a strong, concrete section that highlights your 10+ years leading strategic initiatives in sizeable, multi-function setups. Emphasize programs where you shaped long-range strategy and turned it into executable plans across multiple teams, and note any measurable outcomes tied to capital allocation or performance improvements.
When you describe must-have capabilities, cite a real project where you forecasted, planned, and allocated resources to realize business value across several functions. Quantify impact where you can, cost savings, revenue lift, or efficiency gains help your case stand out.
Be ready to walk through a cross-functional collaboration story in interviews, especially one that involved product, field management, marketing, and legal/compliance. Bring a narrative that shows how you translated data into decisions and how you built external partnerships to scale.
Think of a question that shows you’re thinking about the role’s cross-functional scope and measurement. For example: ask how the team currently tracks the impact of workplace strategy and solutions, and which top cross-functional initiative they expect the new director to own first.
