Lids Sports Group is looking for Seasonal Sales Help to join its on-site team in St. Louis, Missouri. This temporary role is a hands-on, customer-facing gig that’s ideal for people who love sports, hats, and helping fans find the right gear to show off their pride. The company operates more than 1,300 stores across North America and is known for merging sport, fashion, and culture in a retail setting.

As the largest licensed sports retailer in the region, Lids builds experiences around officially licensed headwear and apparel from top college and pro teams, plus brands like Champion, Nike, New Era, Lululemon Athletica and Mitchell & Ness. The business also leads in in-store embroidery, turning everyday items into customized keepsakes, and it collaborates with brands such as Marvel, Peanuts, and The Walt Disney Company to keep fans connected to their teams in style. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Lids aims to energize every shopping moment with knowledgeable staff who can share insight on products and services.

The Seasonal Sales Help role centers on delivering an engaging customer experience, presenting products with care, and staying ready to help shoppers identify items that reflect their individual style and team spirit. Shaping the shopper experience on the floor

On a typical day, you’ll contribute to revenue by delivering excellent service and guiding customers to items that fit their interests and preferences, while keeping the store inviting through well-presented displays and up-to-date signage. You’ll also help maintain the store’s appearance and cleanliness so it reflects the quality customers expect from Lids, and you’ll present yourself in alignment with the dress code as you assist guests and manage the flow of traffic on the floor.

Inventory and operations are part of the job too. You’ll participate in stock handling, including processing shipments and resetting merchandise, and you’ll help ensure accurate product counts are kept across the floor in a timely manner. Across these duties, you’ll follow all LIDS Retail policies, procedures and guidelines, supporting a consistent, professional storefront that makes it easy for customers to find what they want and feel valued when they walk in the door.

Advice for applicants

Show you can lead with the must-have skill by placing examples of strong interpersonal interactions at the top of your resume. Tell a story about a time you helped a customer choose pieces that matched their style or a team’s pride, and mention how you contributed to a positive shopping experience.

When you describe your experience, back it up with concrete outcomes. If you’ve worked in retail or customer service before, quantify your impact where possible, such as how you helped maintain display standards, assisted with inventory, or supported smooth checkouts, so the reader sees the results of your efforts.

Be ready to discuss how you handle everyday store operations. You might be asked how you would process shipments, keep accurate counts, or maintain neat, eye-catching displays. Have a few short anecdotes ready that show you can juggle tasks, stay organized, and preserve a professional appearance on the floor.

Ask a practical question that shows you’re thinking about the seasonal nature of the work and the team’s goals. For example: how performance is measured for seasonal staff, what training is provided for product knowledge and embroidery services, and how the store handles peak-season busy periods to maintain customer service standards.
