Position Overview

 

The Director, PM is the internal Portfolio lead for a book of business. They are a big picture, executional planner and internal team leader partnering with Account to build and maintain accurate work projections and prioritization across assigned business while ensuring the current book of work is tracking and remains in control.

 

The Director, PM is ultimately responsible for the delivery of high-quality deliverables that power client satisfaction, meet business requirements, and balance client and agency economics. The Director leads a multi-skilled team of project managers.

 

  • Partners with account/ marketing team to provide appropriate and consistent communication directly to client(s) in an effort to clearly manage expectations
  • Reviews all projects across account(s) to determine resource and skill requirements; drives resource allocation management; ensures the right resources are cast to the need
  • Partners with Resource management to roll up resource data his or her territory and manage increasing and decreasing resource needs while partnering with the Functional Department Leads
  • Structures and leads project status reviews; leads cross-team post-mortem sessions
  • Leads large teams to develop and manage risk mitigation plans
  • Collaborative business partner to team capability leads to continuously evolve work streams 
  • Prioritizes work in progress (WIP) with functional department leads and account teams to pull work forward and break bottlenecks
  • Manages the portfolio budget and alerts Sr Leadership of shifts in revenue
  • Point of escalation for vendor management concerns
  • Skillfully identifies and removes barriers to project success
  • Manages workload across portfolio and drives difficult or complex production discussions with client and facilitates resolution
  • Partners closely with Account when engaging with client discussions on production concerns to ensure client understands tradeoffs throughout the projects
  • Partners with Resourcing and shifts client workload depending on priority needs across the portfolio in collaboration with Account
  • Scopes and estimates complex, multi-channel engagements and reviews all estimates under his/her book of business before providing to Account Partner for Review
  • Regularly reviews team workloads, actuals, billings, staff plans and utilization and identifies opportunities to drive efficiency and optimize team performance
  • Practices and drives overall organization, information sharing, and alignment across all functional departments leads and or Account teams
  • Manage and train Project management reports in overall productivity, and skills/excellence

Salary Range: $170,000-$190,000 CAD 

The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB.   Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
