This is a 12-month temporary cross train role 

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Director, SBS and Commercial Products will be a leader in the International Card Services team in Canada, responsible for the product strategy and product management for our portfolio of Small Business and Commercial card products.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing business strategies, be a strong collaborator who builds excellent relationships across enterprise stakeholders, and a leader who actively develops a team of high-performing product management and marketing professionals.

They will leverage data and analytics to engage and retain customers and develop plans to take advantage of market opportunities to deliver an unparalleled customer experience.

  • Manage and lead the strategy of a portfolio of products.
  • Continuously evolve the Product Line Strategy including development of plans to enhance the competitive advantage of our products.
  • Maintain a critical financial lens on portfolio economics; identify and implement margin enhancement opportunities while concurrently balancing customer value.
  • Drive development of ongoing loyalty strategies/initiatives to drive spend, benefit usage and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop deep networks with central teams and international markets to leverage learnings, partnerships, and benefits.
  • Create a high commitment work environment where people are motivated and encouraged to achieve through empowerment and development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Significant experience with broad functional exposure and leadership of cross-functional strategic initiatives.
  • Solid knowledge of the payments business in Canada, particularly the card competitive landscape.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record of leading comprehensive strategic reviews, developing recommendations and implementation plans.
  • Superior relationship skills: ability to build and leverage relationships to drive favorable business outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of card economics and associated core levers, experience managing P&L inputs, and proven success in identifying and executing on opportunities to enhance profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to strive within a highly matrixed organization; capable of influencing and building internal alignment across lines of business.
  • Strong team player with ability to build relationships and influence decisions to get things done without direct authority.
  • Track record of achievement with intense results orientation; proven ability to influence and drive change.
  • Exceptional ability to lead a team, influence, and inspire.
  • Ability to create an environment encouraging innovation and strategic thinking.
