The position sits in Disability Claims within Group Benefits and covers registering EI WI LTD and Individual EDGE claims, verifying eligibility, collecting data from employers, TPAs and providers, establishing the date of loss, and managing payments and related correspondence, while answering a toll-free line (10–15 calls per day). You will support Disability Case Managers with follow-ups and communications. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in group or individual insurance, a technical diploma, plus LOMA 280/290 and Lean White Belt; Medical Language certificate is an asset. The Disability Claims Coordinator completes the claim registration process including information and eligibility verification on all new claims for Group Early Intervention, Short Term Disability and Long-Term Disability and Individual EDGE claims. This positions also supports the Disability Case Managers by answering the Group Disability and Individual EDGE Individual Disability toll free line, processing, recording and following up on payments, and other administrative work including sending, sorting and processing communications.
Expected salary range $43,550 - $72,583
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
