Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer requires the ability to work with area managers, supervisors, maintenance technicians, equipment suppliers and operations personnel to program, maintain, monitor and verify all the equipment used in production. This position will balance efforts between production maintenance support and improvement projects. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

What you will be doing

  • Set up, program, engineer and operate equipment as needed to ensure world class OEE and 100% adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Assist engineering with new equipment designs, modifications and installations including project management of upgrades, modifications or new installations.
  • Analyze productions data, implementing and sustaining improvements in all facets of the extrusion, anodize and fabrication processes and fabrication processes to meet/exceed production goals.
  • Provide PLC troubleshooting and programming to support all plant equipment.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum five (5) years relevant work experience in Maintenance and Engineering
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience troubleshooting and programming of PLC’s specifically Allen Bradley
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with servo valves, cartridge valves, switch plate pumps, Vickers Action Packs
  • Demonstrated strong E&I background including retrofitting gauges and meters onto equipment.
  • Proficient in installation and troubleshooting encoders, servo motors, VFDs, PLC controllers, Bluetooth, Data Highway (legacy), Ethernet systems, electric actuators, valves, gauges, meters, etc.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience in extrusion, casting and fabrication operations is preferred.
  • Design, or supervisory design experience in electrical systems, mostly 480VAC.
  • Experience interfacing shopfloor level machinery with enterprise level control systems & ERP's
  • Microsoft Project, Excel, AutoCad, Solid works experience
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills in English, bi-lingual preferred, but not required
  • Lean Manufacturing principles including waste reduction experience.
