About the role

 

Join our Kooragang Island site as Engineer – Process Control & Instrumentation, where you’ll play a key role with our automated control and safety systems on all chemical manufacturing plants on site.

 

This is a hands-on, site-based role working across instrumentation, control systems and functional safety. You’ll collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to solve complex problems and drive continuous improvement in a high-performing plant environment.

What you will be doing

 

  • Support, optimisation and modernisation of control and shutdown systems (DCS/SIS) and plant instrumentation;
  • Investigate and resolve complex reliability and system issues;
  • Partner with maintenance and operations to improve plant performance;
  • Drive alarm management, system improvements and reliability initiatives;
  • Contribute to safety outcomes through investigations, hazard reviews, and management of the site’s Instrumented Functional Safety Management System;
  • Support projects, system upgrades, contractor coordination, and develop toward becoming the site Responsible Engineer for Instrumented Functional Safety.

What you will bring

 

  • Minimum 5 years of Industrial Experience
  • An enthusiastic mindset, with ability to work collaboratively across different teams on site, with a practical, hands-on problem-solving approach;
  • Engineering or Trade background (e.g. electrical, mechatronics, software and chemical engineers, or Cert 3 or 4 Instrument/Electrical trade or programming).
  • Experience with industrial control and/or safety systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA/SIS) and/or safety systems;
