Your day to day

 As a General Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance works related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC and general building services throughout the hotel. You will ensure that all hotel facilities, equipment and guest areas are maintained in a safe, efficient and operational condition while providing prompt support to guests and operational departments.

 

General Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Proper handling of engineering repair and maintenance supplies, spare parts, machines, tools, and equipment. 

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as per the Engineering Maintenance Schedule to avoid breakdowns and equipment failures. 

  • Attend and complete maintenance requests and work orders promptly and efficiently. 

  • Ensure all hotel equipment, fixtures, furniture, and building services are functioning properly and maintained to hotel standards. 

  • Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and plant rooms. 

  • Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC-related issues. 

  • Coordinate with Team Leader, Duty Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer regarding work schedules and obtain proper instructions for assigned tasks. 

  • Ensure all Engineering Standard Operating Procedures and safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities. 

  • Submit necessary reports and update maintenance records as required by the Team Leader, Duty Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer. 

  • Coordinate with concerned departments in a courteous and efficient manner before carrying out maintenance work. 

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workshops, plant rooms, and work areas. 

  • Be an active participant in the Hotel Energy Conservation Program. 

  • Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Colleagues’ Code of Ethics and the Hotel’s policies on Fire, Hygiene, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. 

 

 

What we need from you

  • Certified in Electrical Engineering is desirable
  • Two years’ operating experience in a hotel Engineering department.
  • A naturally outgoing and friendly personality with a passion for service excellence to consistently deliver and demonstrate voco service standards 
  • A true “team-player” mentality and flexible attitude towards a diverse set of tasks
