Job Overview

We are currently looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team in Holland, MI in the Panels Plant on WDK1 schedule on 1st shift.  The schedule is Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (36 hours).  Overtime as business needs.  

As an Engineering Technician, you will provide hands-on support to the paint line (powder coat) and fabrication lamination departments. You will serve as a key liaison between machine operators, maintenance, engineering, and operations leaders by actively troubleshooting and resolving on-the-floor issues, escalating concerns as needed. You will help clean and maintain equipment and create reports for tracking machine efficiency. This position will use 2D CAD to create fabric models for production use.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military

 

Work Experience:

  • 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment. 


In addition:

  • Applicants must be able to work onsite in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
  • Ability to work comfortably when exposed to noise, dust, fumes, dirt, solvent, glue, grease, oil, paint, heat, and/or vibrations
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Powder coat paint experience. 
  • Experience working with fabrics. 
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field.   
  • Certification or vocational training. 
  • 2D CAD experience
  • Furniture or automotive manufacturing industry experience. 
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English). 

Essential Functions

  • Analyze engineering drawings and sketches to create fabric cut models.
  • Develop and modify 2D CAD for new and revised parts.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment for process improvement testing, samples, and troubleshooting.
  • Train operators on the safe and effective operation of equipment.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to reduce cycle times and improve the efficiency of operations.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
