We are looking for experienced and organised Event and Conference Planners to help deliver a wide range of high‑quality events at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland. These roles are based at our City Campus in central Auckland.
We have two (2) fixed‑term opportunities available, each likely to run for 12 months, offering a unique opportunity to work closely with academic leadership, staff, and students within a dynamic and creative faculty environment.
In these varied and people‑focused roles, you will manage the end‑to‑end delivery of events throughout the year. These include public lectures, student and staff celebrations, recruitment events such as seminars and webinars, stakeholder dinners, cocktail functions, pōwhiri, and more. You will work closely with colleagues across the University to ensure each event runs smoothly and reflects its core purpose.
From developing concepts and timelines to managing budgets and logistics, you will bring structure and creativity to every stage of event delivery. You will also provide expert advice and support to stakeholders to help deliver consistently polished, safe, and well‑executed events. You will report directly to the Event and Operations Manager and work collaboratively within the Event Services team.

We are offering two fixed-term, full-time opportunities (37.5 hours per week), with contract lengths of 12 months. The salary range for these roles is $63,000 to $79,000 per annum, negotiable depending on skills and experience.

You are confident working with a wide range of stakeholders, offering sound advice and maintaining momentum under pressure. You know how to juggle multiple priorities and use your initiative, whether working independently or as part of a team.
This role will suit someone who is highly organised, proactive and thrives in a fast-paced environment. A creative eye and an understanding of tikanga and kawa in event contexts would be an advantage. Experience in a similar role is essential, and a tertiary qualification is preferred.
