InterContinental Fujairah Resort is part of IHG, the world’s largest family of luxury hotels. The resort sits along Al Aqah Beach with the Hajjar Mountains as a backdrop, offering 190 rooms, indoor and outdoor event spaces, and a collection of restaurants and a bar. The hotel team is a truly international mix, representing more than 30 languages, a setting where hospitality and luxury come together to create memorable experiences. The brand is seeking a seasoned kitchen leader who wants to shape high-end dining across a seaside resort.

In this onsite, full-time role, you’ll oversee every facet of the culinary operation, from the resort’s dining venues to banquets and events. If you enjoy building menus that delight guests, coaching a diverse culinary team, and coordinating with other departments to deliver smooth operations, this could be the right next step for you.

Ideal candidates bring a passion for luxury hospitality and a disciplined approach to food quality, safety, and guest satisfaction. This is a hands-on leadership role that rewards confidence, creativity, and a clear eye for standards and profitability.

Steering flavors along the Fujairah coast

As Executive Chef, you’ll lead culinary operations across the resort’s restaurants, bars, banquets, events, and other production areas, ensuring top-tier quality, consistency, and presentation that align with brand standards.

You’ll shape innovative menus and culinary concepts that meet guest expectations while reflecting market trends, seasonal ingredients, and the resort’s brand guidelines. Managing food costs, budgets, purchasing, inventory, portion control, and waste reduction will be part of your daily focus to hit financial targets without compromising culinary excellence.

Recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing the culinary team will be central to your role, fostering a culture built on teamwork, accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement. You’ll also uphold high standards of food quality, preparation, presentation, portioning, and service across all kitchens and outlets, ensuring full compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health and safety regulations, and keeping the operation audit-ready.

Collaboration matters here. You’ll work closely with Food & Beverage, Purchasing, Finance, Sales, and other departments to optimize operations, support events, and maximize guest satisfaction and revenue opportunities. You’ll stay attuned to guest feedback and market trends, using insights to drive improvements and new initiatives across the dining program.

Operational duties include overseeing supplier quality, food storage, stock rotation, equipment maintenance, and sustainable practices to ensure efficient kitchen operations. The goal is ongoing advancement in culinary standards, operational efficiency, team performance, and profitability in line with the hotel’s commercial objectives and brand standards.

What we’re looking for in the right candidate

  • A formal qualification in culinary arts or a related field, such as a degree or diploma.

  • At least five years in a senior culinary leadership role, ideally within a luxury hotel or resort.

  • Strong grounding in international cuisine, menu development, food costing, budgeting, and running kitchen operations.

  • A proven track record of leading, training, and developing a diverse culinary team.

  • Solid knowledge of HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.

  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • A commercially minded, creative approach with the ability to perform under pressure.

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.

In return, the hotel highlights competitive pay and benefits, along with the Room to Belong. The position is full-time and onsite at the InterContinental Fujairah Resort in the United Arab Emirates, and the employer is an equal opportunity employer.

The role carries competitive compensation and benefits, with a focus on aligning luxury hospitality standards with guest expectations. The hotel emphasizes a culture where employees feel they truly belong, supported by a workplace that values the contributions of a diverse team. If you’re drawn to leading a high-caliber kitchen in a picturesque resort setting and want to participate in a global brand’s approach to hospitality, this could be a fit worth exploring.

Tips for applicants

Open your resume with a line that puts your luxury hotel or resort leadership front and center, and mention any roles where you ran multiple dining venues, events, or banquets.

Show evidence of your must-have skills with concrete numbers: how you controlled food costs, what budgets you managed, how you led menu development, and examples of HACCP-based audits or inspections you navigated successfully.

Prepare for interviews by detailing how you collaborated with Food & Beverage, Purchasing, Finance, and Sales to support events and maximize guest satisfaction and revenue. Bring stories about how you improved guest experiences through new menus, seasonal concepts, or sustainability initiatives.

Ask a smart question about the role, such as how the resort balances brand standards with seasonal menu concepts, or how sustainability practices shape procurement, storage, and waste reduction across the kitchens.
