RetailData LLC is looking for a Field Representative to join its onsite, part-time team in Fayetteville, NC. You’ll set a schedule that works with your life, and the pay is productivity-based with a guaranteed minimum and plenty of room to grow. This role is a great fit for self-motivated, dependable movers who like working independently in a retail environment and want flexibility in how they spend their days.

With more than three decades as a leading provider of retail intelligence, the company gathers pricing, promotions and merchandising data for some of the world’s largest retailers. In this role, you’ll go into stores to record prescribed product information, then send your findings back to the corporate office for client use. If you enjoy blending business insight with hands-on fieldwork, you’ll likely feel at home here.

If you thrive on clear tasks, enjoy using a smartphone to capture data, and value reliable, scheduled work, this could be a good match for you.

Fieldwork that fits your life

On the schedule you help create with your manager, you’ll use the company app to log specific product information and capture what the project requires. Data collection tasks will focus on item prices, displayed promotions, and, when applicable, photos of merchandising and displays. Once you’ve met the project criteria, you’ll transmit the file electronically to the corporate office for review and packaging to clients.

Must-have qualifications

To qualify, you’ll need to meet a few clear basics. The role requires you to be at least 18 years old and to have a high school diploma or equivalent. You must own a smartphone capable of running the company pricing app and receiving assignments. A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance are necessary. You should be dependable enough to start and finish assignments on time with the level of detail the project demands. You must be able to stand for the duration of the shift and be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds intermittently, and you should be willing to work in cold temperatures found in grocery store refrigerator and freezer aisles when projects call for it.

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Smartphone capable of downloading the pricing app and receiving assignments
  • Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance
  • Reliability to start and finish assignments on time with adequate detail
  • Ability to stand through shifts and lift up to 40 pounds intermittently
  • Willingness to work in cold grocery-store aisles when required

Nice-to-haves

These are qualities that would help you stand out, without being required. Consider highlighting any of the following in your application if they apply to you.

  • Interest in ongoing training and professional development
  • Comfort using a mobile app to capture pricing, promotions and merchandising data
  • Appreciation for flexible, manager-set schedules and local travel

Pay, benefits and practical details

The role includes an upfront, comprehensive training program to ensure you understand what’s expected and how to succeed. Compensation is productivity-based but with a guaranteed minimum, and there’s potential for unlimited upside as you grow your skills using the company’s framework for completing projects. As a part-time team member, you’ll receive identity theft protection and a 401k with match. You’ll enjoy optimized, flexible work schedules that support a healthier work-life balance, plus paid drive time and mileage reimbursement. There are also opportunities for ongoing learning and development as you take on more projects.

Advice for applicants

Lead your resume with a line that reflects your ability to collect accurate pricing, promotions and merchandising data using a mobile app, and highlight examples where you met project criteria on a deadline. Emphasize your reliability and your ability to work independently in a retail setting, and mention any experience standing for long periods or handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds.

Back up the must-have items with concrete proof: your valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation, along with examples of delivering precise results on time. If you’ve used a pricing app before, share the app name and how you used it to complete assignments efficiently and accurately.

Be ready to walk through how you would approach a data-collection task in a store, including how you’d follow the project’s criteria, record prices and promotions, and, when needed, take and attach photos of merchandising. Plan to describe a past situation where you kept data precise under time pressure and how you stayed organized across multiple locations.

Ask a practical question about how training is structured and what support looks like to stay on schedule across different assignments. A good starter question is: how does the initial training set you up to meet project criteria, and what kind of ongoing coaching or resources are available to help you improve your speed and accuracy?
