Candidate Profile

We are looking for a Construction Field Review Representative, responsible for review of on-site work on a wide variety of projects on southern Vancouver Island. As a Construction Field Review Representative, you will be faced with a myriad of challenges that require you to be a versatile and creative thinker. The successful candidate will be comfortable dealing with clients, communicating with contractors, and working in a team-based environment. The focus of this position will be site review of structural components on concrete, wood frame, and mass-timber projects.

 

Salary: $54,000 - $80,000 (based on full-time status and dependent on experience)

This position is also eligible for overtime pay (paid at time and a half), discretionary performance bonuses, and holiday bonuses. These increase the estimated total compensation wage range to $60,000 - $95,000.

 

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working under the direction of senior staff members, you will perform field review of structural components of buildings under construction
  • Review shop drawings and assist design team in reviewing and responding to site inquires
  • Represent RJC at job site meetings with contractors and other consultants
  • Review materials test reports and miscellaneous clerical duties related to this position
  • Prepare field review reports and keep up to date with SI-s, RFI-s.
  • Coordinate structural work with other disciplines
  • Bring site and design issues to the attention of the RJC design team

 

Professional Qualifications & Experience

EDUCATION

  • Civil Engineering Diploma or Degree from an accredited post secondary school – courses in concrete, steel, wood design preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • 0-15 years of experience working on project sites
  • Previous structural design experience an asset, as would CAD/BIM experience
  • Experience in construction and/or in the consulting field an asset
  • Must have valid BC drivers license
  • Own dependable vehicle is required
