WACKER Biotech in Amsterdam is seeking a Financial Controller 1 to own the monthly, quarterly and annual closings, manage the general ledger, support audits, prepare financial reports and management analyses, monitor KPIs and anomaly trends, assist planning cycles, strengthen internal controls, and handle VAT and CBS returns, intercompany reconciliations and asset reporting while partnering with the Head of Finance in a fast moving international biotech setting. Ideal candidate: three to five years of relevant experience in an international production environment, a degree in Business Economics or Accountancy, strong Excel skills, Navision or SAP is a plus, and a proactive, accurate, hands on communicator who is resilient under pressure; English fluency is essential, Dutch is a plus, and you must reside in and be eligible to work in the Netherlands. Job responsibilities

  • The preparation of the monthly, quarterly and yearly closing process and reporting;
  • The general ledger accounts;
  • The audits (jointly);
  • Preparing financial reports and making economic analyses for management in coordination with the Head of Finance;
  • KPI monitoring;
  • Anomaly analyses, incl. monthly reporting;
  • Support the Planning cycles;
  • Advise and being sparring partner for Head of Finance;
  • Internal control;
  • Preparing the VAT and CBS returns;
  • Intercompany reconciliation and processing IC charges;
  • Record keeping and reporting on assets;
  • Improvements of processes and administrative organization;
  • Check and approve weekly payment run;
  • Check salary administration;
  • Preparation of the actual vs budget reports;
  • Interest and loan reporting.
  • Responsibility for credit card administration

 

Qualifications required

  • University/University of Applied Sciences degree in Business Economics or Accountancy;
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience. Experience in an (international) production company is a plus;
  • Good knowledge of general ledger;
  • Strong in Excel;
  • Navision and SAP experience is a plus;
  • Personal skills;
  • A proactive and hands-on attitude;
  • Flexibility to serve the business but strong enough to ensure compliance processes are maintained;
  • Accurate, systematic and goal-oriented approach;
  • Good communication skills- likes to explain and get people onboard;
  • Stress resistant and up for a challenge in a fast changing environment;
  • Good command of the English language in word and writing;
  • Dutch language skills are a plus;
  • You reside in and are eligible to work in The Netherlands (valid work permit).
