Borealis Hotel Group is hiring a Front Office Agent (f/m/d) for Staybridge Suites The Hague – Parliament. This onsite, full-time role places you at the front line of guest interaction, welcoming visitors and guiding them through check-in, check-out and the hotel’s services. If you enjoy talking with guests, helping them feel at home, and keeping things running smoothly on a busy floor, you could be a great fit.

Staybridge Suites The Hague – Parliament sits in central The Hague, steps from the Dutch Parliament and other cultural spots. The hotel is part of the Borealis Hotel Group and aligned with IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global family of brands. It’s a long-stay concept where the team emphasizes comfort and connection, and they welcome someone who loves engaging with guests and sharing local tips, including bike rentals around the city.

In this role you won’t be stuck behind a desk all day. You’ll be a visible host, handling a range of front desk tasks with energy, from greeting guests and upselling services to enrolling IHG memberships and guiding guests through city experiences. You’ll switch between departments as needed, troubleshoot issues, and keep conversations friendly and proactive, helping guests feel cared for from arrival to departure.

Your daily routine in the lobby

As the first face guests meet, you’ll manage the flow of arrivals and departures, make guests comfortable, and answer questions about Staybridge and The Hague. You’ll promote upgrades and other hotel products when appropriate and help guests navigate the city, including bike rentals and dining options. You’ll also take care of memberships, liaise with other teams, and handle complaints with a calm, constructive approach. A little coffee service and a warm greeting each time you see a guest can set the tone for their stay.

Because Staybridge Suites The Hague – Parliament is built around a long-stay concept, the role centers on delivering consistent, home-like service. You’ll listen to guest preferences, coordinate across departments to meet needs, and keep the lobby and front desk running smoothly even during busy moments. The aim is to make guests feel they’re staying with people who truly care about their comfort, with the front desk acting as the friendly hub of activity.

Must-haves and nice-to-haves

Here's what the hotel views as essential capabilities and what would help you stand out.

  • You bring a genuine hospitality mindset and can anticipate guest needs
  • You’re available for full-time work with shifts 07:00-15:00 and 15:00-23:00
  • Your English communication is strong, and Dutch or other languages are a plus
  • You live in or near The Hague
  • You’re proactive, adaptable and quick to learn different systems
  • You’re a team player who can also work independently
  • Experience in (international) hotels or the hospitality industry
  • Some familiarity with the Opera property management system
  • Experience with complaint handling and knowledge of HACCP

Pay, benefits and practical details

The role is classified in scale IV and comes with a good salary plus travel expenses. It’s a full-time, onsite position with the two shifts noted above. You’ll join a dedicated, friendly team in an open, informal workplace that features staff parties and social events. There are generous discounts for friends and family and staff discounts in all IHG hotels worldwide, plus special rates in Borealis Hotel Group properties. Monthly gift cards are part of the perks, and after probation there’s a complimentary night for you and a guest of your choice. The Staybridge brand sits within the IHG family, so there are broad opportunities to grow within a global portfolio, and Borealis Hotel Group owns Staybridge Suites The Hague – Parliament. The company promises tailored support to help you start strong, stay engaged, and develop over time.

Advice for applicants

Lead with your hospitality instincts right up top on your resume, and highlight any direct front desk or guest-facing experience you have. If you’ve worked in international settings, call that out clearly and note how you’ve adjusted to different guest needs and languages.

Back up the must-have items with concrete examples. Show times you managed check-ins or check-outs smoothly, cases where you upsold a service or product, and situations where you switched between departments to solve a guest issue. If you’ve used Opera or similar systems, describe the tasks you performed and the outcomes you achieved.

Prepare for interview questions that explore handling guest complaints and supporting long-stay guests. Have a few stories ready about turning a tricky situation into a positive guest experience, and be ready to describe how you’d explain The Hague’s highlights or bike routes to a visitor.

When you ask questions, focus on the stay experience and team development. A smart question could be about how the hotel supports long-stay guests day to day, or whether there are formal cross-training opportunities to learn different front-of-house functions and deepen your residency within the IHG family.
