Electrical Draftsman – Job Description

An Electrical Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and layouts for electrical systems used in residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. They work closely with electrical engineers and project teams to develop accurate drawings that comply with project specifications, industry standards, and applicable electrical codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Develop single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable routing, lighting layouts, power distribution plans, and control system drawings.
  • Revise and update drawings based on engineer comments and project requirements.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant electrical standards, codes, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other disciplines to resolve design conflicts.
  • Maintain drawing registers, document control, and project records.
  • Review technical specifications and incorporate design changes into drawings.
  • Support project execution by providing accurate and timely drafting services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
