We’re looking for a General Labourer to join our Central Otago District Council maintenance team, based in the Central Otago region. This is hands-on work that helps keep local roads, spaces and community assets in good shape for the people who use them every day.
You’ll be part of a team that backs each other, gets stuck in and takes pride in doing Good Work. Day to day, the vibe is down to earth and supportive. When it counts, we switch on and deliver to a high standard.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day maintenance works across council assets and infrastructure.
  • Carry out general labouring, site set-up, clean-up and basic manual tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Work closely with site crew and supervisors to deliver planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Help with traffic management, equipment handling and keeping worksites tidy and compliant.
  • Follow safety, quality and environmental standards at all times.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn on the job.
  • Experience in general labouring, civil, maintenance or outdoor work is helpful but not essential.
  • A strong focus on safety, teamwork and doing the job right.
  • A full Class 1 licence and the ability to carry out the inherent requirements of the role.
  • Someone reliable, proactive and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
