Genuine Parts Company is seeking a proven General Manager for Value Added Products in Motion to lead the sales function, grow revenue and profitability, and drive a high performing, safety conscious culture across New Zealand and the broader Asia Pacific region. You will set and execute business strategies, forecasts, tender processes, and collaborate with marketing and executive teams to support brand and acquisition strategies while mentoring both direct and indirect reports. We are seeking a proven leader to join us as General Manager for Value Added Products, leading our sales function to grow revenue, improve customer experience, and foster a high-performance culture.

What kind of work may be involved?

  • Lead and direct sales teams to achieve gross profit and EBIT targets
  • Develop and implement business strategies and sales forecasts
  • Foster a safety-first and customer-centric culture
  • Oversee tender and contract processes
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to direct and indirect reports
  • Collaborate with marketing and executive teams to support brand and acquisition strategy
  • Monitor sales performance metrics for improvement and growth opportunities

Ideal skills & experience:

  • Significant experience building and leading sales teams in industrial or related sectors
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing budgets and resources effectively
  • Expertise in customer relationship management and fostering excellent customer experiences
  • Ability to analyse sales metrics and develop actionable business plans
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work across teams to achieve growth outcomes
  • Passion for safety, culture, and continuous improvement
